DO YOU COMBINE SHIPPING?
Yes, and our preferred method of shipping is Unites States Postal Service Priority Mail flat rate envelopes and Priority Mail flat rate boxes. For larger international orders we use multiple flat rate envelopes or boxes, whichever costs less.
WHAT IF MY SHIPPING IS HIGHER THAN IT SHOULD BE ON THE INVOICE?
If you overpay please let us know and we will send a REFUND for the overage. You can also ask for a custom listing with the correct shipping before you pay. Please write "Check Shipping" in the Notes section when you check out to bring any overage to our attention.
HOW MANY YARDS WILL FIT IN A PRIORITY MAIL FLAT RATE ENVELOPE?
For quilt weight and apparel weight fabrics eight yards will fit in a flat rate. For all other fabrics, such as flannel, corduroy, home dec and drapery weight, etc., the amount ranges from 2-4 yards per flat rate envelope. Each listing will specify the amount depending on the fabric weight and bulk.
CAN YOU FIT 9 YARDS OF QUILT WEIGHT FABRIC IN A FLAT RATE ENVELOPE?
If the entire purchase is Kaffe Fassett fabric we can fit 9 yards. All other fabrics or fabric combinations are limited to 8 yards.
WHAT IF MY SHIPPING AMOUNT IS OVER THE RATE YOU QUOTE?
When buying multiple items and the shipping total is over the amount due, here are your options...
1. Please request a custom listing for you with the correct shipping.
2. You can go ahead and purchase what you have in the cart and I will send a refund for the shipping overage.
If the shipping is over the amount due please make a note of it in the buyer's message box. Usually I will automatically send a refund of excess shipping paid but sometimes I don't notice an overpayment when I have a lot of orders to ship at once.
HOW SOON WILL YOU SHIP MY ORDER?
We try to ship all orders the same day they are paid or within 24 hours. Once in a while we have so many orders it takes several days to complete all of them. This is usually in the event of a sale, promotion, or a large quantity of new arrivals. Please let us know if you are in a hurry. Normally we ship Monday - Thursday. Occasionally we ship Friday or Saturday if available.
HOW LONG DOES SHIPPING TAKE?
If you are ordering 1-2 yards it will be shipped First Class Mail which takes about a week in USA and about a month internationally. Priority Mail is available for an additional charge. Orders over two yards ship Priority Mail. Priority Mail takes 1-3 days in USA depending on where you are located from Boston, 6-10 business days on international order. Customs clearance will take additional time.
HOW LONG WILL CUSTOM'S CLEARANCE TAKE?
Customs clearance can take 1-30 days and we can not be responsible for customs delays. We have no control over clearance. For this reason it is not a good idea to have a deadline on international orders. We have had Priority Mail orders delivered in Australia in 7 days and waited over a month for a Priority Mail shipment across the border to Canada. Most delivers occur within 30-45 days and almost all within 60 days.
WILL MY SHIPPING INCLUDE A TRACKING NUMBER?
Yes and no. First Class Mail and Priority Mail shipped in USA include a tracking number. International First Class Mail and Priority Mail flat rate shipments include a Shipping Confirmation number which confirms that your order has shipped. Once the shipment reaches the International Sort Facility in Jamaica, NY and international transit is in process, no additional tracking information is available. Standard Priority Mail, (not flat rate envelopes or boxes), includes international tracking.
DO YOU SHIP RUSH ORDERS?
If you are in a hurry please let us know so we can prioritize your order. Every attempt will be made to ship rush orders as soon as possible Monday through Thursday. We may ship up to three times a day, morning, 1:00 pm, and evening, depending on our volume. Please ask if you have a deadline to meet.
DO YOU SHIP OVERNIGHT EXPRESS MAIL?
In a word, no, not if I can help it. Too expensive and there is no guarantee that it will arrive overnight. A flat rate Express Mail envelope is $23.00 in USA, and 2-3 the cost of International Priority Mail. I will ship Express Mail at your request but I will not accept any responsibility for on time delivery once it is shipped.
CAN YOU SHIP EXPRESS MAIL TO AN INTERNATIONAL LOCATION?
No. Due to International Customs clearance your package can take from one day to 30 days to clear. We have no control over when the package will clear.

Please inspect your fabric carefully upon receipt, and by all means let me know if there are any problems with your order. I will gladly accept returns/exchanges if fabric is defective, if the wrong item has been shipped, or if the item was damaged in shipment. I will reimburse any shipping costs incurred when returning damaged merchandise and I will send replacement merchandise at no additional cost.
WHAT IF I NOTICE A FLAW AFTER I CUT THE FABRIC?
We do not accept any claims whatsoever on cut yardage. Please inspect carefully before cutting.
WHAT IF I DON'T LIKE THE ITEM OR IT DOESN'T MATCH?
We have a 100% SATISFACTION GUARANTEE! Your satisfaction is very important to us. If you are not satisfied for any reason, simply mail the item back to us in it's original condition, within 7 days of receipt, and we will issue a refund of the full purchase price, minus shipping cost. Buyer pays for return shipping. If shipping was free, the cost to ship it to you will be deducted from the refund. Due to copyright restrictions, we cannot accept returns on books or patterns.

WHO PAYS FOR INTERNATIONAL TAXES AND FEES?
Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to making a purchase.
IS THERE ANY WAY TO SAVE ON CUSTOMS FEES FOR LARGE ORDERS?
Yes, you can ship your order in multiple Priority Mail flat rate envelopes at different times. Each envelope holds up to 8 yards of apparel/quilt rate fabric. Shipments can be morning, afternoon, and evening or the following day so they don't all arrive in Customs at once.
Another option may be to ship the package to someone you know in the USA.
CAN YOU MARK MY PARCEL AS A GIFT OR PUT A LOWER VALUE ON IT SO I CAN AVOID PAYING DUTY OR TAX ON MY PURCHASE?
It's illegal to falsify customs declarations by stating a lower value or marking an item as a "gift" in order to avoid customs fees, and it is a felony in the United States.
USPS: "A false, misleading, or incomplete declaration can result in the seizure or return of the item and/or in criminal or civil penalties."
I really, really wish I could! It's a shame to see extra cost added to sewing fabric! But it is illegal to falsify the customs documents and being convicted of mail fraud would mean the end of my business. Packages clear customs best with a proper invoice inside the package and a corresponding value on the outside documents. If a parcel is opened and there is a discrepancy the merchandise is confiscated and/or a fine may be charged in addition to the actual fees. I am not willing to take the risk. I know that you have a choice of fabric sellers and there are many that operate their business in shades of grey to avoid taxes and gain an unfair selling advantage. I am not one of them.
